If you’re an avid street photographer, you’ll know that every city has its own unique flavor and charm. Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia, is no exception. With its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and historic landmarks, Tallinn provides endless opportunities for capturing striking street photographs.
My goal is to travel the world and document the everyday scenes on the streets. I was able to capture the beauty of the busy everyday life in the streets of Tallinn, Estonia, and here are some of my favorite shots from my ‘Street Photography in Tallinn, Estonia’ series.

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY IN TALLINN, ESTONIA: TIPS
Explore the Old Town

The Old Town of Tallinn is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and for good reason. It’s a treasure trove of medieval architecture, narrow alleyways, and quaint courtyards. Take a stroll through the Old Town, and keep your eyes peeled for interesting characters and scenes.
Capture the People

Street photography is all about capturing the essence of a place through the people who inhabit it. Tallinn is no exception. Try to capture the locals going about their daily lives, whether it’s a fisherman mending his nets, or a group of friends enjoying a coffee in a cozy café.
Look for Contrasts
Tallinn is a city of contrasts. Old meets new, traditional meets modern, and colorful meets monochromatic. Look for scenes that capture these contrasts, such as a modern building looming over a medieval tower, or a brightly dressed person walking down a gray street.
Get up Early
The early morning hours in Tallinn are a magical time for street photography. The streets are quiet, the light is soft, and you’ll have the city all to yourself (or almost!). Wake up early, grab your camera, and hit the streets before the crowds arrive.
Use Leading Lines
Tallinn’s streets are full of interesting lines and shapes that can add depth and interest to your photos. Look for leading lines such as cobblestone paths, tram tracks, or the curves of a building.
