Street photography is a type of photography that captures candid moments in public places. Street photography gained popularity in the 20th century with the advent of affordable, high-quality cameras and film. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has a lot of great street photography opportunities.

The park surrounding the iconic Petronas Twin Towers is a great spot for street photography. You’ll find plenty of people exercising, relaxing, and taking in the views of the city.

Petaling Street
The bustling Chinatown is a popular spot for street photography, especially during the night market when the streets are filled with colorful lights and vendors selling all sorts of goods.

Jalan Alor
This street is well known for its amazing food, but it’s also a great spot for street photography. You’ll find plenty of people, street performers, and interesting signs and advertisements.

The historic square is home to many of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic landmarks, including the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the Royal Selangor Club, and the National Textile Museum. It’s a great spot for street photography and capturing the city’s history and culture.

Kuala Lumpur is a city that has a rich culture, diverse architecture and plenty of street life to capture. There are many street photographers in this city who capture moments on their camera as they walk around the streets, but here are some tips to get you started:
Find a Good Location.
Kuala Lumpur has plenty of public places with lots of people walking by, so it’s easy to find people to photograph. Places like Central Market or Jalan Alor offer great opportunities for you to take pictures without having to wait long periods of time for something interesting to happen.
The best place to take street photographs in Kuala Lumpur is at Petaling Street where you will find a lot of great street vendors and people selling their wares on the side of the road.
Always be aware of your surroundings when taking photos.
It is important not to get so caught up in what you are photographing that you forget about your surroundings. You never know when something unexpected might happen or who might walk into your frame so always be mindful of those around you.
