Have Your Own Mad Tea Party at Alice Tea Salon (Review)

Alice Tea Salon
ALICE TEA SALON: The signage

For lovers of anything Alice in Wonderland, this hidden gem in Ortigas Center named Alice Tea Salon is the best place for you! 🙂

But before that, here are other restaurants in Ortigas Area that I reviewed (click the items to view the review articles):

Alice Tea Salon had its soft opening last July 11, 2017 and I had the chance to be the first ones to witness its wonderland-themed paradise. Why? Because Alice Tea Salon was located just behind the office I previously work with. Those who are working in Ortigas Area, Pearl Drive is a popular place to eat and hang out because it is a strip where most fast foods, convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants are located.

The whole interior of Alice Tea Salon is visible from the outside, but some signage like the iconic Alice in Wonderland red door and the white rabbit are indicating that it is a totally different world inside.

Upon entering the place, you will notice the clean white theme coupled with blue. This counter perfectly resembles Alice’s dress. It is like entering a literal wonderland where you will hesitate to touch anything because it looks so clean. To be honest it is a little intimidating to dine inside the place especially if you are not dressed properly, but hey, of course everyone is welcome to chill here in this beautiful cafe.

For Alice in Wonderland fans, this corner is a good place for a “Mad Tea Party” with The Mad Hatter and The March Hare. I totally, totally love and support this idea of putting hanging tea cups to signify a Mad Tea Party. It doesn’t say that we are not allowed to touch the cups, but just don’t. Let’s respect the interior design of the place.

Cups and takeaway containers are beautifully-designed. They are very minimalistic, just like the complete vibe of the place.

The floor design puts you in a life-sized chess game. It totally resembles the life-size chess scene in Alice in Wonderland. Please note that the chessboard design of the floor does complement the design of the whole place with the chosen colors for the chairs and tables.

And you simply cannot go wrong with these glowing blue neon wall decorations. Neon signs are on the rise in restaurants and bars, and it gives us a retro-ish vibe right? I think it is just perfect for the cafe’s theme to have these neon blue signs because Alice in Wonderland is a classic literary work. The font chosen is also appropriate!

Whatever this sign means, though. (Or am I missing something with the Alice in Wonderland story? Enlighten me guys, please!)

Alice Tea Salon also serve different types of cakes, cookies, and pastries. Notice that the price could match the prices of some coffee shop chains, but we all don’t mind trying something new from time to time, right?

So, what did we order?

Being a super duper fan of strawberry milkshakes, I ordered one and it tasted good! It costs Php170 (a little expensive, to be honest). Still gonna order again, though! I’m also paying for the nice ambiance of the place.

My friends tried Hazelnut Choco Smoothie (Php160) and the highly recommended Calamansi Pie (Php120).

My general rule is if I went to hang out with friends at any cafe, I would separate my blogger self and focus on the bonding. But they happily allowed me to take a few minutes to snap photos around. I’m just really, really, sorry about this calamansi pie that I forgot to take a photo of before eating!
