Does work from home drive me insane? What a rhetorical question.
It’s been two years and the Philippines is still not fully going back to face-to-face classes. We’re still on Zoom University.
I was watching an episode of the new season of Queer Eye entitled ‘A Night to Remember’ and as someone working in the (higher) education industry, I can’t help but resonate to all the feelings in tha episode.
The episode was about the Fab 5 helping a high school organize a prom night, and as the students and teachers were sharing their emotions, experiences, and struggles during the pandemic, I was close to crying.
Perhaps not all students know this, but some teachers and professors heavily rely on them for social battery and even for moral and emotional support. That we are as clueless as they are as to what to do and when things will get better. That we also sometimes feel hopeless and demoralized.
I’ve redecorated my workspace for the millionth time this year, and I think I might continue changing it depending on my mood. I can’t wait to be back in my normal work routine.
